trailer Teases Operation Chimera and Outbreak Co-op Mode Coming to Rainbow Six Siege Soon

The mysteries surrounding Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming Outbreak special event are getting very curious indeed. Ubisoft has dropped a new teaser trailer for its new three-player co-op mode, as well as detailing a few nuggets of information for what we can expect from this fairly drastic departure from form.
First of all, this might not actually be zombies. A pod has been found in the small town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and it’s unleashed a biohazard threat on the surrounding area, trapping civilizations and soldiers. A crack squad of Rainbow’s finest biohazard and biological warfare specialists is called in to try and tackle the dangers posed by the Quarantine Zone.
There will be five different types of infected enemies in Outbreak, each with unique abilities. They won’t take cover and will charge you, forcing players to react quickly under pressure. Ubisoft reckons this mode will push the destruction engine to a new level, and the three exclusive levels included are largely outdoor based and will have a linear progression. There’ll be two difficulties - Normal and Pandemic. The Pandemic difficulty will require some serious coordination and tactical play, while the addition of friendly fire means players can’t be too trigger happy.
As it’s a fairly specialised event, not every Operator will be playable in it (or indeed, even useful). Players will be able to pick from the two new Operation Chimera operators, Smoke, Ying, Buck, Kapkan, Ash, Doc, Tachanka, Glaz, and the trusty Recruit if you’re feeling cocky. Clearly, shields are OP in this mode.
The controversial Outbreak Packs will also come into play at the same time. These include “cutting edge cosmetics” and can only be bought with Rainbow bucks paid for with cold, hard cash.
